  • Sales & Administration

    Provide the highest level of customer service to the public

    General sales and cashier duties

    Provide book suggestions to customers based on their interests

    Create and maintain displays and merchandising based on themes

    Keep the workspace clean and orderly

    Be aware of current book trends and assist with researching to prioritize new stock choices

    Assist the management team with a variety of tasks, included but not limited to: data entry, building book orders, receiving stock, sales at off-site events.


    People

    Develop positive relationships with our customers and community

    Provide information about the LGBTQ community to tourists and Toronto residents

    Work as team member to meet organizational priorities

    Foster a sex-positive, anti-racist and anti-oppressive environment

  • Required

    Excellent knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ communities

    Paid or volunteer experience within the LGBTQ community

    Some demonstrable knowledge of LGBTQ books and films

    Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English

    The ability to integrate anti-oppression frameworks into your work

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Experience in retail

    Some anti-oppression and anti-racism training

    Exceptional demonstrable knowledge of LGBTQ books and film

    The ability to speak languages other than English

  • $15.50-$16.50 an hour, based on experience.

    Free or discounted food, drink and books.

    30-37.5 hours per week

    Full-Time hours could be possible for the right candidate.

    The current schedule would be Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.
